Rado Florence from the 1980s, an avant-garde interpretation of the rectangular dress watch. Instead of a conventional bezel and crystal arrangement, the watch has a continuous piece of flat sapphire crystal across the face, with gold-tone case flanks intersecting the crystal on either side. The black dial is kept clean with applied gold-tone markers and matching hands.
The Swiss watch brand Rado became particularly known for experimenting with unconventional materials and futuristic case construction during the 1980s, and the Florence was part of this period of design experimentation. This example is paired with a new black alligator-grain calfskin strap with a gold-tone steel buckle.
The case shows some light wear, while the crystal and dial remain clean. Overall, this example is in good condition.
